Former Massachusetts Gov. Bill Weld, now on the board of one of the country’s biggest cannabis companies, will speak this week at the Cannabis World Congress and Business Expo in New York.
Weld serves on the board of advisors at Acreage Holdings, along with former House Speaker John Beohner.
Weld, who was elected twice as Massachusetts governor, in 1991 and 1994, will speak Thursday at 1 p.m. during the conference and trade show, which begins Thursday at the Javits Center.
Keynote speakers at the conference include Canopy Growth CEO Bruce Linton and cannabis activist and television personality Montel Williams.
Acreage Holdings is one of the largest players in the cannabis industry in the United States, owning cultivation, processing and dispensary operations. It has a presence in 11 states.
