Snapchat Testing Pullback from Redesign

Redesign redux.

Snap, parent company of Snapchat, said this week it is testing a new design (again) for the app, with company officials telling Business Insider it may pull back on some of the major changes from a redesign announced in February.

The new design would put the page with friends’ Snapchat stories back on the same page with those from celebrities – reversing a separation that was the key element of the original redesign earlier this year.

The new (old) design is just being testing right now and the company hasn’t said how long it will trial the reversal before it decides whether to undo some of what it did in February.

Many Snapchat users said they didn’t like the uncoupling of friends’ posts from those from celebrities – saying that feeling like they were “friends” with celebrities was what they liked about Snapchat in the first place.
