Pizza Hut says it is expanding its beer delivery service to nearly 100 stores in California and Arizona.
The pizza chain has been testing beer delivery in the Phoenix area since December, and it has apparently gone well.
“Pizza Hut has and always will be focused on serving customers a great pizza experience,” Zipporah Allen, CMO, Pizza Hut, said in a press release. “And nothing complements an oven-hot pizza like an ice-cold beer.”
Allen said the company’s restaurants are licensed to serve and distribute beer already, and can do so without added on fees or longer wait times.
“Expanding the pilot program is a natural way for Pizza Hut to get our customers the perfect pizza and beer combo they’re craving, delivered right to their doors,” Allen said.
The company, owned by Louisville, Ky.-based Yum! Brands, is partnering with MillerCoors, so its free delivery options only include Coors Light, Blue Moon, or Miller High Life.
There are minimum order requirements (you can’t just have them bring you one bottle of beer), and orders have to be placed through PizzaHut.com, or the Pizza Hut Mobile App for iPhone and Android.
In Arizona, Pizza Hut offers beer delivery at some restaurants in the the Phoenix and Tucson areas and Glendale, Prescott and Winslow.
In California, beer delivery is already being offered at some stores in Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Riverside, Sacramento, Santa Barbara and Santa Clara, and will be coming to locations in Anaheim, Fresno, Huntington Beach and Redding this month.
