Members of Congress, Blumenauer, Titus, to speak at Marijuana Business conference in Vegas

Two members of Congress, Oregon Democrat Earl Blumenauer and Nevada Democrat Dina Titus, will discuss marijuana industry issues from the congressional perspective at the MJBizCon conference in Las Vegas.

The two legislators are expected to discuss the likelihood that the federal prohibition on Justice Department prosecution of businesses legally following state cannabis laws will be renewed, the level of support for other cannabis legislation before Congress, and the Trump administration’s approach to cannabis.

Blumenauer has been an outspoken advocate for cannabis legalization, and most recently made news with a speech advocating cannabis as a tool in the effort to reduce opioid addiction.

The MJBizCon, put on by Marijuana Business Daily, is scheduled for Nov. 15-17 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
