Medical Marijuana Dispensary Licenses Offered in Five Iowa Communities

Three companies have been offered licenses to provide medical marijuana at dispensaries in five Iowa cities.

The Iowa Department of Health said Tuesday that the dispensaries offered licenses will be in Council Bluffs, Davenport, Waterloo, the Des Moines suburb of Windsor Heights, and Sioux City.

The companies have until Wednesday to accept.

Have a Heart Compassion Care will be offered the license for the Council Bluffs and Davenport dispensaries. Iowa Cannabis Co. Inc., would operate in Waterloo and MedPharm Iowa has been offered the license to operate in Windsor Heights and Sioux City.

Patients with certain conditions, including cancer, will be able to obtain cannabis oils. Smoking cannabis remains illegal in the state.
