Legal Cannabis Sales About $1M Per Day in Nevada

Legal sales of cannabis averaged about $1 million per day in Nevada in the first six months since non-medical use of the drug was legalized there.

Las Vegas Patch reported last week that dispensaries reported just under $200 million in sales for the six-month period.

Those sales generated more than $30 million in tax revenue for the state in the half-year period, according to the Nevada Department of Taxation.

About two-thirds of that was collected through the state’s 10 percent retail tax, and about a third through the 15 percent wholesale tax, Patch reported.
