Cannabis News From Around the Country:
The United States Marijuana Index was hovering around 108 Monday, off just a bit, in part because of a big drop by CV Sciences, which was down more than 20 percent following news that investors nationwide filed a securities fraud class action suit against the company. CV Sciences develops and commercializes CBD drugs and CBD consumer products.
Big gainers in the cannabis sector today include MedMen, which recently had a good revenue report that has gotten some good press. And several Canadian cannabis stocks have been up following a Bloomberg report that Diageo PLC, the company behind big brand names Guinness Beer and Crown Royal Canadian whisky, is looking to make a deal with a Canadian cannabis firm to market a cannabis-infused beverage.
