Largest Marijuana Convention Starts Today in Vegas

MJBizCon Marijuana Convention is Largest in Industry

David Royse | LedeTree

More than 15,000 marijuana industry executives, investors and vendors are expected to attend the largest cannabis conference in the world, starting today in Las Vegas.

The MJBizCon runs through Friday at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Among the speakers at the conference are George Blankenship, who has led marketing campaigns for Tesla, Apple Stores and the Gap, venture capitalist Jeanne Sullivan, and U.S. News and World Report White House reporter Kenneth Walsh.

The gathering also includes panels on issues from cultivation to business best practices.

It’s the sixth year for the conference, but it has grown dramatically from its first year in Denver in 2012, when marijuana was legal in only about half the states that currently allow it.

The conference comes as Nevada has recently legalized adult use marijuana, and as California prepares for full legalization starting Jan. 1.

MJBizCon is put on by industry media company MJBizDaily.
