Blue Origin Closing in on Sending People to Space

Blue Origin completed the ninth flight of its New Shepard rocket Wednesday, wrapping up another test of the vehicle’s escape system as the company works toward its first human space flight as soon as this year.

The booster and spacecraft blasted off from the company’s launch site in West Texas shortly after 11 a.m. Eastern and then performed a test designed to ferry passengers to safety in the case of an emergency.
