Amazon has finished site visits for all 20 cities that made the final list of possible locations for its second heaquarters, NBC News reported.
This Seattle-based retailing giant says the HQ2, could bring as many as 50,000 high-paying jobs to whichever city it chooses.
NBC also reported that some cities are already seeing increased interest from other companies in relocating to town, just from being on the Amazon finals list. Newark, N.J., Philadelphia and Austin have reported surges in economic activity and are crediting their having made the list.
“We’re seeing this halo effect, and we’re excited,” Neward Mayor Ras Baraka told NBC. “It has provided renewed interest in the City of Newark. Our city is changing, and this buzz has helped change the perception.”
